What's your passion? (my experience to inspire)

I am laying here in the bed feeling somewhat content but not yet fully accomplished of the career goals that I plan to execute...thinking wow what was the hold up? Several years ago I was an individual in my late teens attending Lehman College  unsure of what career path I wanted to take,  my major was accounting and honestly all I thought about was the $$$ this wasn't good!  Immediately after one semester I switched my major to  Mass Communications which consist of tv production and broadcast journalism..this was my calling indeed my passion!  Well after interning at local access tv shows, former talk show The Ananda Lewis Show and BET's  Rap City and earning my Bachelors things took a turn... my grandmother that took part in raising me,  passed away from Uterine Cancer.  After the passing of my grandmother I had no choice but to live on my own and not be picky about whatever job I took to pay the bills..and sometime, shoot most of the time we have to bite the bullet to keep a roof over our heads! The one mistake I truly made was losing sight of my passion!  I became too comfortable at the various jobs that I had and became discourage due to years passing by of my chances of possibly getting back into the mass media field.  The error that I made was not having the persistence to be consistent, if I had still pursued my passion at least part time who knows maybe life would be more grand right now..but in the same token it is never too late to pursue your passion! I will admit to everyone after several years of job hopping recently I went back to Grad School for Special/Childhood education which has been my interest for a while because I do love kids and have the passion and patience to instruct them the correct way which is to customize instruction according to their learning styles..wow I talk a lot don't I? <smile> It is funny how life goes, a few toxic people came into my life, various negative events occurred and BAM just like that my original passion in the field of Mass Media resurrected but this time on my own terms!  Several months ago I start working on my online magazine (Recognition Magazine) which will debut online between late spring and early summer.  One thing you have to know things take time and can't be rushed if your trying to be on point, but at the same time don't get too laid back whereas a project that your doing will never be complete. Bills have to be paid so I always suggest having that job or going to school... that is if school is for you, it's not for everyone..but make sure you pursue and never let go of your passion even if your putting in 5hrs a week out of your hectic schedule.  Recently I had interviewed an upcoming musician Compton Robinson and he said it best "You have to keep at it, it's going to eventually pay off it has to, because you have to be a master at something if you put a thousand hrs into it at least, you have to have a firm understanding of whatever you want to do!"

Love 365

Today is Valentines Day..should I say happy V-day?  It's a day with no real meaning if anything it is a commercial holiday that allows establishments to grab up the dinero..well can't hate on that!  But I feel that the love ones that surround us should be shown appreciation everyday..365, I know that's not realistic at all times but most of the time is what i am saying.  I don't understand how people are in rocky relationships and expect exchanging gifts or marathon sex on valentines day will resolve the bigger issue at state..you either going to fix the relationship, keep it broken and remain miserable or leave (I don't speak out of observing only I have been on both sides of the coin).  And for those whose relationship is just "alright" sometime you have to go the extra mile to keep the romance alive, do the things that initially attracted your partner to you and vice versa don't get so comfortable and let yourself go in the relationship or loose your own self identity. One commercial holiday truly doesn't show love for your partner you should do right by them 365 and vice versa, this also goes for family and friends. Of course everybody has heard this before that you should love your loved ones not just on a holiday..but seriously who is following what's the true meaning of love? Are some of us still in love with the word love? Does V-day put some in a fantasy state?

Accepting what you were born with!

I'm still sitting here going over in my head how the 20yr old student from London passed away from an injection to her behind!  Seriously and what was this injection for?!..well to enhance the size of her behind to make it look big and appealing in a society that is heavily infatuated with ass point blank.  This woman traveled all the way from London to sit up in a Philly hotel room! My  goodness she should had realized this wasn't adding up..my condolences do go out to her and her family.  I didn't know about this situation until one of my friends actually mentioned it, then to actually see it on the news I'm thinking this is crazy. People are actually passing away out here to fit into what society feels is beautiful, sexy, appealing so forth. People die from self inflicted causes such as anorexia, suicide etc  And more at the forefront within the past years we hear these line of  cosmetic surgeries gone wrong with  the passing of Kanye West mother,  Ashish Toews the woman that passed from a tummy tuck she had done at Calvary..look at how crazy "The Lion Lady" made herself after obsessive surgeries! I feel like this it's dangerous enough putting your life into the hands of so called certified cosmetic surgeons..but in this 20yrs old woman's case,  someone that was not licensed practicing out of a hotel room is out the box!  I hope despite this young woman lost her life, that this will be a lesson to all that's not satisfied with their looks.  If someone or a group doesn't accept you for your appearance then to hell with them, there is always someone that will accept you..and besides worrying about other people be proud of how you look remember everybody is beautiful or handsome in their own unique way.  When you exude confidence you will always shine, please remember that!

Recognition Magazine Coming Soon

I felt that celebrities receive too much recognition for what they do!  What about the everyday people that bust their behinds 10times harder and don't get the credit they deserve?  That's why I created Recognition Magazine, this magazine will focus on the excellence of everyday people in career fields and education.  This magazine will also focus on interest such as hobbies, style, health, travel review and etc. The mission of this magazine is "Recognizing excellence with the goal to inspire", therefore if anyone have doubts in their abilities they can look towards others that's achieving excellence and in turn this will inspire them to reach and execute their goals.
